ServEasy ("we", "our", "us") operates the website serveasy.co.in and the ServEasy platform, which connects customers with independent local service professionals ("Providers") across categories such as AC repair, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, interior design, cooking, and home food delivery in West Bengal, India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ServEasy, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, phone number, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and profile photo if you add one.

Provider information: in addition to the above, service category, experience, portfolio photos/videos, government ID or business documents submitted for verification, bank/UPI details for payouts, and service area (pincode).

Booking information: service address, pincode, preferred date/time, service notes, and communication between you and a Provider through our chat feature.

Payment information: when you pay through Razorpay, UPI, or another supported method, the payment is processed directly by our payment partner. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or UPI PIN — we only receive a transaction reference and status from the payment gateway.

Usage and device information: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar technical data collected automatically to keep the platform secure and to improve it.

Communications: messages you send us via the contact form, WhatsApp, email, or complaint/review submissions.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and show you relevant Providers or bookings
• To connect customers and Providers to fulfil a booking, including sharing necessary contact and address details between the two parties for that specific booking
• To process payments, payouts, wallet balances, refunds, and subscription billing for Providers
• To send booking confirmations, OTPs, reminders, and service-related notifications by email, SMS, or WhatsApp
• To verify Provider identity and maintain service quality, including reviewing complaints and ratings
• To detect fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
• To respond to your questions and support requests
• To improve the platform and understand how it is used

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these situations:

• Between customer and Provider: to complete a booking, we share the information each party reasonably needs — for example, your service address is shared with the Provider assigned to your booking, and the Provider's name, rating, and contact details are shared with you.
• Payment partners: Razorpay and other supported payment/UPI providers, solely to process payments and payouts.
• Communication providers: email, SMS, and WhatsApp Business API providers, solely to deliver notifications you'd expect (OTPs, booking updates, reminders).
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ServEasy, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: if ServEasy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted password storage, access controls, and secure payment processing through PCI-DSS compliant partners — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
